Urban verges
In the urban areas of the district (ie Warwick, Leamington, Kenilworth and Whitnash towns) Warwick District Council undertakes maintenance of grass verges on behalf of Warwickshire County Council. Weather permitting, we aim to maintain the grass at between 50mm and 100mm in height (between 2 and 4 inches). For more information on the standards we aim to achieve see our page on horticultural standards.
Warwick District Council undertakes this work as agents for the County Council, and is responsible only for grass cutting. Issues such as parking on verges, reinstatement of damage caused to verges etc are dealt with by Warwickshire County Council.
Rural Verges
Outside the urban area verge maintenance is dealt with by Warwickshire County Council. Visit the county council website for information about the maintenance of rural grass verges.
