Using Search
Type a word, sentence or phrase in the search box and select the Go button. It doesn’t matter if you use upper or lower case. The whole site will be searched.
Pages that include the search word(s) exactly as typed in will be ranked higher in the results list. Pages with words that are based on the search word(s) will also appear.
Surround search terms with quotation marks to try and obtain an exact match. These pages will be ranked more highly in Search results.
There is no need to include words like AND in multiple word searches as the search does this by default.
To refine your search select Advanced Search.
Using Advanced Search
Within the Advanced option box you can limit your search to return pages that do NOT include certain words. Type these words into the box labelled Exclude pages with these words and select the checkbox to switch on this feature.
You can also search for pages within a specific category by selecting one from the drop down menu labelled Pages in this category only. Select the checkbox to switch on this feature.
Select the Go button when you have refined your search.
Search results
When you submit your search, you will see a page of results. This contains the title and summary of each result. Select a title to go to the web page or document.
Results are organised into categories (e.g. results from the Leisure section of the website will be in one category). Click All Pages in Category to see all results within a category. If there are lots of results they may be spread out over several pages. Click Next/Previous categories to move between pages.
