Search Help

Using Search

Type a word, sentence or phrase in the search box and select the Search button. It doesn’t matter if you use upper or lower case. All information pages will be searched but specific systems like the planning register, the licensing register and My Property need to be used to conduct those searches.

Pages that include the search word(s) exactly as typed in will be ranked higher in the results list. Pages with words that are based on the search word(s) will also appear.

There is no need to include words like AND in multiple word searches as the search does this by default.

To refine your search select Advanced Search.

Using Advanced Search

Within the Advanced option box you can limit your search to return pages that do NOT include certain words. Type these words into the box labelled Exclude pages with these words.

You can also search for pages for pages by document type e.g. to return PDFs only.

Select the Search button when you have refined your search.

Search results

When you submit your search, you will see a page of results. This contains the title, summary and page location of each result. Select a title to go to the web page or document.

All PDFs and documents are grouped together and appear at the end of search results. You can amend this using Advanced Search.

Pages that include the search word exactly as it was typed in will be ranked higher in the results list. Pages with words that are based on the search word will also appear.
