Medicate

In 1999 Leamington Spa Art gallery & Museum initiated an innovative programme of exhibitions, events, collections and educational projects uniting medical science, history and the visual arts.

The Medicate programme reflects the importance of the medical treatments carried out at the Royal Pump Rooms in the past and their impact on Leamington Spa, complementing the history of the Building and our collection of historic medical equipment.

Many activities have centred around the interchange of ideas between artists and medical scientists/healthcare professionals with the aim of developing new audiences for the arts and medical science and encouraging positive approaches to health.
