Learn something new in your lunch break! Friday Focus lunchtime talks cover a wide range of topics. Come and discover some of the fascinating facts and stories behind our exhibits. The talks are informal and last about 15 minutes.
We also organise more in-depth talks, titled Friday Focus Extra. These events last around one hour.
Spring 2012 programme of talks:
20 January - David Barby, art and antiques expert and President of FLAG will talk about the paintings from his private collection which are loan to the exhibition James Edward Duggins: A Warwickshire Impressionist. This 30 minute event is part of our regular Friday Focus programme.
27 January - Gallery Assistant, Jake Watts will talk about the Eduardo Paolozzi prints on loan from Exhall Grange school in Coventry.
3 February - Senior Gallery Assistant, Jonathon Treadwell will talk about the work that inspires him in the James Edward Duggins: A Warwickshire Impressionist exhibition.
10 February - Head Gallery Assistant, Roz Crampton will talk about the painting The Red Hat by Sir George Clausen.
17 February - Ethelfleda and the Origins of Warwick: Heritage and Arts Manager Jeff Watkin will explore the historical and archeological evidence about the town's origins as a stronghold against Viking raids.
24 February - Friday Focus Extra Laura Robinson, Sculpture Co-ordinator for the Arts Council Collection will introduce the new exhibition Henry Moore: In the Arts Council Collection. This event will last one hour.
