Conservation

All matters to do with the conservation of the built environment are handled by the Conservation and Design team within the Planning Department.  

Services from the Conservation and Design Team

The Conservation and Design Team provide advice on a range of conservation issues including:

• whether a property is a listed building or in a conservation area;
• detailed guidance and advice to applicants proposing new development within historic areas or works to listed buildings or buildings within Conservation Areas;
• information about conservation grants; and,
• promoting and celebrating historic buildings and areas.
