This year's Heritage Open Days Weekend was our most successful to date. This endorsement comes from the feedback we have received from both organisers of venues and visitors to the venues that opened this year.
There were a record number of visitors to regular participating venues with significant numbers at Guy's Cliffe but also at Packwood House and Baddesley Clinton, National Trust properties which opened for FREE on Saturday 12th September.
This year the Conservation Team promoted the event over two days at Royal Priors instead of the usual one which proved popular coupled with the fact this years free prize draw was for a Chiltern family rail ticket as well as a family ticket to Warwick Castle.
The Friends of Leamington Station operated tours over the weekend and these were very well attended. A special thank you to both the station and the castle for their support and cooperation with this year's event.
Among other venues were the Royal Naval Club in Leamington, the Real Tennis Court Club and at Barford the Women's Institute celebrated their 90th birthday with a special exhibition. Among the wealth of other buildings in the area as a whole range of churches, chapels and a temple opened their doors free of charge to the public.

The challenge now is for Heritage Open Days 2010 to be even better! So get your thinking caps on and any ideas for next year's event we would be pleased to hear from you.
