FEBRUARY HALF TERM ACTIVITIES  - what's on this half term

 Children swimming

Swimming and sports

Warwick District Council offer a range of sports activities during both term time and school holidays in leisure centres and community venues. These sessions are organised by qualified and experienced coaches who have been recruited and vetted in line with our policy and procedures. 

Swimming

We organise swimming lessons and parent and toddler swimming. Visit the individual centre pages for more on swimming.

Splosh

Fun and games in the pool with inflatables and floats. Splosh takes place at Abbey FieldsSt Nicholas Park and Newbold Comyn centres. Visit the individual centre page for timetables.

Wacky water sports

7-11 year old children can try a range of water sports including canoeing, snorkelling and life saving activities in the safety of a warm pool under the guidance of a qualified instructor. Contact Abbey Fields or Newbold Comyn for details.

Sports play

Aimed specifically at 4 - 7 year olds and provides the opportunity for children to learn the basic sporting skills such as jumping, throwing and catching in a fun and safe environment. Contact one of our leisure centres for further details.

Sports taster sessions

2 hour sessions aimed at introducing 7-11 year old children to specific sports and providing the opportunity to learn the basic skills of the game. Contact one of our leisure centres for further details.

Sports coaching courses

The next stage on from the taster sessions. These run for 2 hours per day for between 3 and 5 days, and provide the opportunity for young people to further develop their skills and abilities at a specific sport.

Taster sessions and coaching courses are available in the following sports:  Football, Archery, fencing, badminton, athletics, tennis, snorkelling, canoeing, basketball, cricket and tag rugby. Contact one of our leisure centres for further details.

Football coaching

TERM TIME - At Castle Farm Recreation Centre. Call the centre on 01926 850550. Football mania is for 7-11 years olds can simply turn up and play football.  There is no coaching, just playing games and having fun.

Basketball coaching

TERM TIME - Myton Basketball Sessions, Friday evenings 5pm - 6pm for ages 8-12 and 6pm - 7pm for ages 13-16 at the John Atkinson Sports Centre, Myton School, Myton Road, Warwick. Just £2per session! Call 01926 498363 for more information.

Junior sports activity sessions

TERM TIME - An opportunity for disabled and non disabled young people aged 8 – 16 yrs to assist each other in a variety of fun sports activities in a safe a positive environment. Sessions take place at St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre, Warwick. For further information contact: 01926 456222.

Art and craft activities

Activities take place at our leisure centres and at Leamington Art Gallery & Museum.

Leamington Art Gallery & Museum

There are a variety of events and activities for families to enjoy at the Art Gallery & Museum. Be inspired by our exciting collection, local history, and changing programme of exhibitions and events. Follow trails around the galleries and find interactive exhibits and lots of buttons to push.

Krafty Kids

Encourages children aged 4 - 7 years to be creative by making pictures and artwork using a variety of craft material. Contact one of our leisure centres for further information.
