Active People Survey Results 2009

The Active People Survey is a national survey carried out for Sport England throughout every local authority area in England. The survey measures participation, club membership, tuition, competition and satisfaction results. Did you know?

Participation results in the district remain high (26.9%), this has increased from the previous survey, rising from 24.7% in 2008.

Results for all areas (participation, club membership, tuition, competition and satisfaction) are higher than the average for the West Midlands and Nationally.

New Coach Bursary Scheme

Would you like money towards your coaching qualification?

CSW Sport have opened a new coach bursary scheme that aims to increase the number of qualified coaches and therefore increase the capacity within sports clubs or organisations to deliver sport in Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire.

Any individual who is 16 years or over and part of a sports club or community organisation delivering sport in Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire can apply, however there are strict timescales and deadlines that need to be met and each bursary applicant will need to complete certain information to receive the subsidy.

We're Getting Big on Play in Warwick District

Thanks to a Big Lottery Fund grant of over £218,000, we are going to get Big on Play with an exciting range of free play activities for children and young people. In partnership with the Arts in Warwickshire Education service and also the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers, we will be providing opportunities for children to get creative with recycled materials and also have fun with a range of games and activities in our parks and open spaces.

Warwick District - Sports Clubs Audit 2009/10

The Sports Development Team has completed an audit of local sports clubs in the district over the past few months. The aim of the audit was to gather information on local sports club opportunities and to provide local clubs with the chance to publicise club information on the Warwick District Council website.
