Sale of standing timber

Thinning of Oakley Wood

In line with the management plan, the Council is planning on carrying out a 30% thin of Oakley Wood in autumn 2011. Following a bidding process which finished on 31 May 2011, the Council has agreed the sale of the timber produced with Mendip Forestry. Contractors are expected to begin work in early September 2011 and take four to six weeks to complete the work.
