Joining a gym

New members are welcome to join at any time. Contact any of the gyms listed above and book an induction at a time to suit you. There are a range of membership options including monthly payments and casual membership. Whichever option you chose there is no annual contract.

Membership is open to all over the age of 16 years and all members will be taken through a detailed introduction with a trained member of gym staff. This ensures that members get the most out of their exercise and are trained in safe methods of exercising.

There are a range of methods of payment available. Casual payment allows members to pay as they use taking advantage of Off Peak prices and concessions for older people, those with disabilities, those in receipt of Income Support.

Regular members can benefit from Direct Debit or Annual Fee payment methods that allow unlimited use of facilities (depending on the type of membership).

Special Offers are run through the year to reward regular members and attract new members to join. These offers may also include incentives to use other activities in the Centres i.e. swimming pools, saunas etc.

Prices and equipment

Download the Pyramids Gyms price list (240kb, PDF) to find out the facilities provided in Pyramids gyms, the location of the gyms and the range of memberships. The equipment at our gyms includes Pulse Fitness's brand new Evolve Range of strength equipment and Freedom cardio vascular range.

The extensive modern gyms were recently equipped with a full range of brand new equipment that will suit everyone from the trained sportsman to those trying this type of exercise for the first time. The gym at Meadow Community Sports Centre at Kenilworth School now has a range of resistance equipment and more CV kit bringing it in line with the other gyms. As with all the Pyramids Gyms, membership at one site entitles the member to use any of the four sites. The gym at Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre is approved by the Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) a project which encourages people with disabilities to use the facilities in particular the gyms. PACE scheme

A successful PACE GP Referral scheme operates at St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre in partnership with the Priory Medical Centre, Lapworth Surgery and Budbrooke Medical Centre and at Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre in partnership with the Cubbington Road practice, Croft Medical centre. Radford Road Surgery and Warwick Gates surgery. Patients of these practices who may be interested in joining the scheme should talk to their GP or the practice nurse.

For those who are looking for a more individual service, each Pyramids gym now offers a Personal Training Service. For further details, please the centre of your choice.

A fitness testing service is now also available. Book a session by contacting Reception at any of the leisure centres with a Pyramids gym and for only £5 receive a comprehensive fitness test including blood pressure, body fat %, flexibility and lung capacity.

There are a wide range of aerobics/exercise to music classes at each of the sites. Each taught by a qualified instructor there should be a class to suit everyone.
