“Action for all ages beside the River
Avon”
St Nicholas Meadow was acquired by Warwick Borough Council and the formal gardens and the Children’s Corner were opened in the 1930s. The ground to the east was laid out as playing fields after the war. A popular open-air swimming pool replaced an older structure by the river, both now demolished and succeeded by the pool in the leisure centre. The cottages were once a watermill. The park’s host of activities attracts visitors from all over the Midlands as well as local people.
