The frequency of funfairs has been agreed by the Council as follows:
Leamington
Three funfairs are held annually during May, June and September.
Warwick
Warwick Town Centre plays host to the annual Mop Fair and Runaway Mop. The Mop Fair has run for over 400 years and the town centre will be awash with rides, stalls and entertainment. The following roads will be closed: Market Street, Market Place, Old Square, Puckerings Lane, Brook Street, Swan Street, New Street, Church Street. New Street car park is also closed from 3pm on the preceding Thursdays until Sunday morning.
In 2008 the Mop will be held on the 17th and 18th October with the 'Runaway' Mop on 24th and 25th October. The Farmers' Market will operate in Swan Street on Friday 17th October.
The first slice of the traditional pig roast is cut by the Mayor of Warwick at 1pm on the first Saturday at the bottom of New Street and sold off for auction.
During the Mop, all shops and restaurants and pubs are open for business so please support them during this time.
