Warwick District Council is able to take action in respect of:

buildings which are unoccupied and which are not effectively secured against unauthorised entry, or which are likely to become a danger to public health;
-
buildings which have been unoccupied for a long time and which could be brought back into use as dwellings.
Buildings which are not effectively secured can be boarded-up to prevent unauthorised entry or to prevent them becomming a danger to public health.
Where dwellings have been vacant for more than 12 months, or have been abandoned by their owners, the Council will endeavour to ensure that they are brought back into use by taking a series of steps which might ultimately result in compulsory purchase.
