As a major provider of housing in the district the Council spends significant amounts of money repairing and improving its housing stock.
The Council maintains its stock of dwellings by implementing programmes of work for cyclical and planned maintenance.
Cyclical maintenance comprises the external painting to dwellings, painting of internal communal areas to flats, servicing of gas appliances and maintenance of electrical installations etc.
Planned maintenance focuses predominantly on achieving the Decent Homes Standard and includes such works as renewal of kitchens and bathrooms, replacement of roofs, installation of efficient heating systems, replacement of windows etc.
The Council also works with Registered Social Landlords who are endeavoring to meet the need for affordable housing within the Warwick District.
For Major Works see Programme and Progress Report (68kb, PDF).
The Council is also responsible for monitoring the condition of private sector housing, where necessary taking enforcement action or providing grant assistance to improve conditions.
