An eviction is the expulsion of a tenant from a property by its landlord.
Legal evictions follow a defined legal process with the landlord having obtained a Court Order to end the tenancy.
Illegal evictions can occur when a landlord has not followed the correct legal process. If you believe you have been subject to an illegal eviction you should seek legal advice or contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau.
