Communications during an emergency

Communications - How we will communicate with you during an emergency

During an emergency we will do our best to communicate with you to let you know what is happening. The responding organisations will work together to ensure that the same message will be communicated to you. We will communicate with you in various ways but the best way is for you to listen to your local radio station.

If your life is in imminent danger then call the emergency services on 999

If you are not in imminent danger:

  • Stay calm
  • Follow the advice of the emergency services
  • If not told to evacuate then go into your home
  • Shut all doors and windows
  • Tune into your local radio station
  • Follow any further advice issued

This can be remembered as

Go in, Stay in, Tune in

If there is a major emergency, radio stations and TV companies will interrupt programming to give public safety advice and information about the situation.

You should tune into:

BBC Coventry & Warwickshire on 94.8, 104 and 103.7 FM
