Local area agreement
All funding streams are now drawn together in one Area Based Grant (ABG). There are four blocks in the Local Area Agreement (LAA) and community safety is in the Safer & Stronger Block.
Administration of the local area agreement safer block fund
The LAA is administered by Warwickshire County Council (WCC). The funding made available to Warwickshire in 2011/12 was reduced considerably and will reduce further in 2012/13. We will have democratically elected Police & Crime Commissioners (PCC) in November 2012 and the PCC will be responsible for any central government funding. Arrangements for the allocation of funding in 2012/13 are not clear at this time.
South Warwickshire community safety partnership funding bids
The £67,000 made available to SWCSP was allocated as follows:
- £33,000 to Warwickshire Police to tackle violent crime
- £22,000 each to Stratford District & Warwick District Councils to tackle anti-social behaviour
Safer neighbourhoods funding
Community Safety will consider financial support of bids to the community forums.
