Home Care/Help Service
Description
Home Care (sometimes called Domiciliary Care) is the provision of social, personal care and domestic services that are necessary to maintain an individual in a reasonable measure of safety and comfort in their own home. Home Care tasks are comparable to those that could be carried out by a competent and caring relative. Home Care does not provide nursing care, that is, care which requires the specialist skills of a qualified nurse.
Home Care can be provided by private agencies or by Warwickshire Social Services Department’s own Home Care Service.
Eligibility
People who have a permanent or temporary inability to manage their own care, whatever their age, whose needs fall within Social Services Department’s Priority Need categories. Where individuals are not eligible for a service funded by the Social Service Department, they will be offered advice and information about possible alternative sources of assistance.
Access
Apply to your local Social Work Team (details below). Social Services offices are open Monday to Thursday, from 9 am to 5.30 pm and on Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm.
