Benefit fraud investigations
The investigation into suspected fraudulent benefit claims is carried out by a team of specialist investigators working within the council.
The total value of housing and council tax benefit paid by the council in 2007/2008 was £28 million. By employing a team of benefit fraud investigators the council minimised the extent to which payments went to those who were not entitled.

You can report a suspected benefit Fraud online. Alternatively call the Fraud Team Hotline on 01926 456820. We will answer during office hours or you can leave a message at other times. All calls are treated with the strictest confidence.
