The Council has prepared new planning policy on Managing Housing Supply. This policy responds to the high level of new housing that has taken place in the District in recent years and will seek to ensure that the supply of housing does not significantly exceed the targets set for the District in strategic plans.
This policy was prepared as a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). A draft of the SPD was approved by the Council for public consultation in June 2005 and the public consultation was undertaken during June and July. On 12th September 2005 the Council approved a revised draft of the SPD for development control purposes.
