Heritage Open Days is a national event, forming part of European Heritage Days. Local property openings and events are organised by civic societies, local authorities, amenity societies, museums, and owners and managers of buildings. This year the event took place between 11th-14th September and attracted many visitors to a wide range of historical and cultural properties in Warwick District.
Each year more than 2,500 buildings across the country opened for free to the public, attracting 800,000 visitors each year. It is co-ordinated and managed nationally by the Civic Trust, with funding from English Heritage. Locally Warwick District Council co-ordinates the opening of over 30 venues each year. In 2009 we hope to support another weekend of Open Days furute details will be available in July 2009
If you have any questions relating to Heritage Open Days or have any comments and suggestions for venues and activities in the 2009 Heritage Open Days Event, please email the council on heritageopenday@warwickdc.gov.uk
