Warwick District Council's Energy Management Objectives
1) Corporate Commitment To fully integrate Energy Management measures related to council initiatives e.g Asset Management Plan, Agenda 21 and Housing Business Plan. Raise the profile of the Energy Issues with Council employees and contractors.
2) Monitoring, Targeting and Reporting on Energy Consumption To ensure that the amount of energy used in council buildings is verified and recorded.
3) Provision of Advice and Investment Measures Provide advice to building managers on how to reduce energy usage. Identify new schemes that can reduce energy usage and achieve financial savings within realistic pay back periods.
4) Financing Projects Utilise the Energy Management Fund and monitor projects financed from the fund to ensure they meet the expected payback targets.
5) Building Energy Management Systems (B.E.M.S) Develop the B.E.M.S and associated controls to ensure buildings operate at optimum consumption levels.
6) Energy Purchasing Liaise with the Council’s energy brokers and suppliers to ensure that all electricity supplies are from renewable sources and that both gas and electricity supplies are purchased at competitive prices.
