Complaints Procedure
Description
Parents are often anxious about something happening at school. Always try to solve a problem or concern by first talking to the headteacher. Most matters can be resolved this way. For complaints concerning Voluntary Aided and Foundation Schools, the process is much the same as set out below, but you should find out more about following up your concern or complaint from the school, as processes can be varied.
If you remain dissatisfied after speaking to the Headteacher, there is an LEA complaints policy.
You will always be asked to take a complaint through to conclusion stage by stage. The first formal step is to write to the Chair of the Governing Body of the school. Governors should normally deal with your complaint within 20 school days, including having a meeting to which you will be invited. All school matters are dealt with in this manner.
Eligibility
Any resident of Warwickshire or parent with a concern about education provision in a Warwickshire school.
Access
If you have taken your complaint as far as you feel you can with the school head teacher and governors, you should write to the Assistant (Complaints) at the LEA detailing your complaint. Your complaint will be acknowledged within 5 days and efforts will then be made to investigate the problem and send a written response within 20 working days.
