What is RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. RSS feeds bring automatic updates to your desktop. There's more than one way to subscribe to a feed:
- Drag the icon into your news reader.
- Select the icon or the link, then copy and paste the address from your browser into your news reader.
Your news reader will then display the latest news in a brief summary and will update automatically. Just select the link within the summary to take you to the full story.
News readers
You'll need to install a news reader to get RSS feeds. It's also called a feed reader, an RSS reader or an aggregator. The BBC website contains an explanation of RSS as well as details of news readers.
