How to use HomeChoice

1.       Register – You must be on the Housing Register. Application forms are available on the applying for a council home page or from Riverside House, any of our One Stop Shops or Warwickshire Direct at Kenilworth Library. It may take up to 4 weeks for your application to be processed.

2.       Choose – Every fortnight all available properties will be advertised on this website, in the local Observer newspaper and at council and community venues across the district. You can choose up to 5 properties to bid for from each advert. (You may not be able to choose from all the properties as you may not be eligible for everything depending on your household size or any advertised age restrictions)

3.       Bid – Each advert will have a specified closing date and late bids can not be accepted. You bid online or phone us on 01926 456430. You will need your personal reference number and the property reference number(s) from the advert/website to make your bid. Bids must be made in your order of preference as if you are successful we will only offer you your first choice. Please note - you will also need a password which you can select yourself.

After the closing date we will make provisional offers to the highest placed bidder for each property. Successful bidders will be visited to confirm their eligibility and once the offer is confirmed can move as soon as the property is ready. Once you have been made an offer you can’t bid for anything else until the offer is finalised.

If you don’t receive an offer within 7 days of the bidding period closing your bid(s) have not been successful this time. You will be free to bid again in the next bidding round. We will be publishing information on the website and in the newspaper about the successful bids so you can understand why you were not successful and make informed decisions about which properties you may wish to bid for in the future.

Housing Associations can now submit property details electronically. The details are then advertised on the council's website and in the local press.
