From 1st April 2008, everybody aged 60 and over will be entitled to travel free on local buses anywhere in England. Many people with disabilities will also be eligible.
Residents who already hold a Warwick District Council bus pass do not need to do anything; a new style pass will automatically be issued prior to April 2008. However, anyone who has moved address within the last 2 years and not advised the council will need to contact us to prevent the pass being posted to the old address.
For new applicants, details on how to apply for a new style pass will be publicised in March 2008.
This new pass will continue to be issued free of charge.
Councillor, Norman Pratt, Portfolio Holder for Customer and Business Improvement, said: "The new pass will give the holder the freedom to travel regularly on the bus without having to worry about cost and this should also offer drivers a real incentive to leave the car at home for a variety of trips, both local and further afield".
