Christmas tree recycling
Eight million Christmas trees will be bought this year in the UK, most of which will be thrown away generating over 160,000 tonnes of additional rubbish. Real Christmas trees can be recycled through the garden waste collection scheme. Just leave the tree next to your green wheeled bin on collection day.
Alternatively, recycle your real Christmas tree at any of the following places between 3rd and 18th January 2008:

Christmas card recycling
A massive one billion Christmas cards (17 for every man, woman and child) could end up in bins across the UK.
Recycle your Christmas cards at participating Tesco, WHSmith, TK Maxx or Marks and Spencer stores throughout January 2008*.
(* Excludes Tesco Express stores and M & S Simply Food Stores)
Please note we cannot currently collect cards or wrapping paper from your red box.
