The West Midlands Regional Assembly is responsible for developing and co-ordinating a strategic vision for improving the quality of life in the region.
The assembly currently comprises 100 members, 68 of whom are elected councillors from councils throughout the region. There are also 16 nominated business representatives and 16 economic and social representatives from organisations in the region.
In addition to its ties to local authorities, the assembly also works closely with Advantage West Midlands (AWM) and the Government Office of the West Midlands (GOWM).
