Corporate Strategy
The Council’s approach to Performance Management is designed to ensure the objectives and priorities detailed within the Corporate Strategy 2003 - 2007 are effectively implemented, monitored and managed to achieve real improvements in the quality of life of local residents.
Guide to Performance Management Framework
The Council has developed an integrated Performance Management Framework to ensure all elements of the Council’s activity are effectively joined up to translate high level ambitions into individual team’s activities. Follow this link for a two page summary of the key elements of the framework.
Service Area Plans
A key element of the Performance Management Framework is the Service Area Plan prepared by each service area of the Council. These plans provide detail of what activities the service area undertakes, how it has performed over recent years and what it plans to improve over the next 12 and 36 months. Follow the links below for copies of the 2008/09 indicators for each service area. All documents are pdf format and open in a separate window.
Portfolio Holder Statements
Each year the portfolio holders develop an annual statement of priorities as part of the Service Area Planning process. These detail how the long term ambitions and priorities detailed within the corporate strategy are being broken down into year by year activities within each portfolio holder’s area of responsibility. Follow the links below for each portfolio holder statement for 2008/09. All documents are pdf format and open in a separate window.
Meetings and Reporting Frequencies
Supporting the Performance Management framework is a regular series of planned performance orientated meetings between officers and elected members to monitor and manage performance issues. This culminates each quarter with the production of the quarterly performance reports and each year with the production of the Best Value Performance Plan.
