The council’s licensing department is responsible for issuing licences, permits and registrations for a wide range of activities. These include alcohol, entertainment, taxis, lotteries, street trading, street collections, house to house collections and personal treatment licences.
Our aim is to protect the public by achieving a high standard of public safety and animal welfare, and to prevent nuisance.
We follow strict guidelines before issuing any licences. We investigate any complaints involving unlicensed or licensed activities, and take action where necessary.
