A revaluation of all rateable values takes place every 5 years and is conducted by the Valuation Office Agency. This is to ensure that the Rateable Values reflect the changes that have taken place in the property market since the last valuation.
The last one was 1st April 2010. The Valuation Office Agency produced a list, showing the revised Rateable Values. Ratepayers will receive a summary valuation which will explain how the revised Rateable Value has been worked out, and from 1st April 2010 bills have been sent out based on these figures.
The next one is 1st April 2015. All non-domestic properties are due to be assessed and given a new rateable value, based on rental values, in time for the 2015 charges. The new draft rateable values will be sent out to ratepayers by the Valuation Office Agency during October 2014. For further information on rateable values Telephone 03000 505 000 or see the Valuation Office Agency website.
