National Apprenticeship Week 2012
Warwick District Council supported National Apprenticeship Week, which ran from 6th-10th February.
Now in its fifth year, this week is all about helping to increase awareness of apprenticeships amongst schools, families and the media and to promote the benefits they can bring for both individuals and employers across the district.
Employers and people looking to apply to the national scheme can find information about apprenticeships throughout the week here, on Twitter or at our Riverside House reception and Warwickshire Direct offices.
Apprenticeships at the council
The council will be offering two full time apprenticeships for local people, based at the Leamington Spa offices. The successful applicants will be employed as Assessment Officers in the Benefits team and learn all aspects of housing benefit and council tax benefit assessment whilst studying for an NVQ in Business Administration.
Councillor Michael Doody, Leader of the Council, said: "Apprenticeships are a great way for young people to begin their career. They will earn and learn on the job and at the same time, gain nationally recognised qualifications and enjoy the career progression opportunities. Over 100,000 employers in England offer apprenticeships and I am delighted that Warwick District Council is one of them."
Details of the council apprenticeships vacancies will be available at www.apprenticeships.org.uk
