Local History Gallery
The museum’s Local History Gallery is on the site of the exotic former Turkish Bath, which was added to the Royal Pump Rooms in 1863. The displays tell the story of Leamington's development from a rural village to the elegant and thriving town of today. At the heart of the story is the discovery of the spa water and how the local community used it to promote Leamington as a health resort in the 19th and 20th century.

The 'Hammam', part of the Turkish Bath, has been incorporated into the Local History Gallery. The Hammam has strong Islamic influences in its style, colouring and stained glass. The original paint work, tiles and brickwork have been uncovered and the original decorative scheme recreated. Some of the glass is the restored original; the rest was made in 1998 to complement it by stained glass artist and designer William Nichol.
